At Fighting Myopia, we provide personalized, evidence-based solutions to manage and control nearsightedness in children. Using advanced technology and tailored care plans, we work to slow or stop the progression of myopia, reducing the long-term risk of serious eye conditions like retinal detachment, glaucoma, and macular degeneration.
Early myopia management isn’t just about protecting eye health. It also boosts confidence, supports learning, and improves quality of life. Stable vision helps children perform better in school, feel more at ease in social settings, and even opens the door to future options like LASIK.
Our mission is to give kids the clarity they need today and the healthy eyes they deserve for tomorrow.
Hello! I’m Dr. Emil.
I became an optometrist because I’m passionate about helping people see the beauty of the world around them. While I enjoy prescribing glasses and contact lenses, I realized these solutions only address the symptoms, not the underlying causes. That’s why I chose to specialize in myopia management. I truly believe in the power of early intervention to prevent long-term vision problems.
A little about my background: I earned my B.S. in Biology with a minor in the Sociology of Health from Temple University. I then went on to receive a Master’s degree from Drexel University, followed by my Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from Salus University (formerly the Pennsylvania College of Optometry). As part of my doctoral training, I completed a pediatrics internship at The Eye Institute in Philadelphia.
I’m certified in CRT, Euclid, and Johnson & Johnson Acuvue Abiliti orthokeratology lenses, as well as the MiSight 1-Day soft contact lenses for myopia control. I’m a member of the American Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control (AAOMC) and the Gas Permeable Lens Institute (GPLI).
I’m committed to staying current with the latest advancements in myopia management, so I can help your child preserve their vision for a brighter future.
