Soft Contact Lenses

Soft multi-focal contact lenses are specially designed with multiple zones of focus in each lens:

  • The center corrects distance vision.
  • The outer rings create controlled "myopic defocus" in the back of the eye.

This defocus effect slows how quickly the eye elongates, a key factor in myopia progression. Clinical studies have shown these lenses can reduce myopia progression by up to 50%.

Soft multi-focal lenses are great for...

  • Children and teens with progressive myopia
  • Young adults seeking a non-surgical option for vision control

They’re especially helpful for kids whose eyes are still developing, providing vision correction and myopia control in one daily lens.

Yes! Soft multi-focal lenses are made from oxygen-permeable materials to support eye health and comfort. At Fighting Myopia, we ensure every lens is carefully fitted and provide ongoing support through regular checkups. With proper care, these lenses are a safe and effective option.

Year 1: Comprehensive Myopia Management

  • At least 4 visits per year
  • Insertion and removal training
  • Contact lens evaluations
  • Axial length measurements to track progression
  • Quarterly myopia reports to keep you informed

Year 2 & Beyond: Ongoing Maintenance

  • Minimum 2 visits per year
  • Continued axial length monitoring
  • Myopia reports every 6 months

Note: Costs vary based on lens type and replacement schedule. While soft multi-focal lenses may cost more than standard contacts, the benefits of slowing myopia progression make them a smart long-term investment in your child’s vision. Yes!
